79AU2026-10-09 13:24:0679AU hot wallet attacker returns 15,000 BNB as remaining funds stay unaccounted forPeckShield said on Oct. 9 that the attacker behind 79AU’s operating hot wallet, known as 79thVault, has returned 15,000 BNB to a wallet address designated by the project team, with the amount valued at about $11 million. PeckShield also noted that the attacker had previously deposited 30 BNB to KuCoin. The status of the rest of the funds has not been disclosed. The incident follows an earlier loss on BNB Chain in which 79thVault may have lost about $12.5 million due to a private key leak. According to the same report, the team’s operating hot wallet was usually used only for small transfers to a rewards pool. More recently, the address sent out 2.01 million 79AU from a trading pair to external addresses in seven transactions. The individual transfers were 10,000, 100,000, 100,000, 300,000, 500,000, 500,000 and 500,000 tokens.30
